Tester - Passionate tester …..

I would like to share my personal experience on how a tester turns in to a passionate tester during the course of external certification preparation.

Everyone will have this question in their mind…

Are Certified professionals - good testers?

We can’t assure that all certified professionals are good at testing and all non certified professionals are not good at testing. (Definitely not copied from a cini dialogue :-)

At the time of taking a training/presentation for associates, I usually start the session with few questions:

Question 1: Whether you really took testing as your career?
Around 90% of the associates used to tell, they were forced to take “Testing” as their career.

Question 2: Do you feel development is better than testing?
Around 95% of the associates used to tell “Development” is better than “Testing”.

Question 3: How much time do you will spend on a daily basis for searching the testing related articles?
Many associates used to tell they will spend minimum of 1 hr for browsing and chat on a day to day basis. They too accepted, they won’t spend time for searching testing related articles on a daily basis until a requirement comes.

I too have the same answer when I started my testing career. When we start taking testing as a passion the entire perception will be changed.

How to become a passionate tester?
There are different ways to become a passionate tester. One of the best way is preparing for external certifications.

Why we need to do certification?
While preparing for certification, we use to surf over the internet and try to find new articles about testing and start reading that.

  • Testing perspective will be changed towards positive attitude.
  • You confident level increases to take a presentation in front of your associates.
  • We will get to know latest techniques which are currently in use.
  • You will really come to know the importance of testing. How important our role is.
  • You will be very proud enough to say that tester’s role is equal to developer.

Be proud to be a tester and being a part of testing family !!

About Testers Journey blog

This is my first blog. Always I used to read lot of technical and non technical blogs. Due to some factors I didn’t wrote the blog for a long time! Now the time has come!!!

Why I choose start writing blogs about testing? As a passionate tester, I like to provide a platform for all the testers who like to share (best practices and issues faced) during their course of their projects.

What is Testers Journey blog all about?I felt this is the right place for the other passionate testers to share their testing experience and get expertise by reading the other experience faced in different project across the globe.

Why Testers Journey blog?We will always have a place where we can search and collect the details of the best practices across different projects. But we don’t have place to share the lessons learnt from different projects. Here comes my blog to solve this!!!!

Why we need to read or share issues/lessons learnt from our project? There is a proverb in English “Learning from mistakes”

But we are having a wrong assumption in our mind that we need to learn from our own mistakes only.Really the proverb tends to say that we need to learn from others mistake and we need to take preventive action to avoid similar kind of problem occurring to us.

It’s a nice essence to learn the issues/lessons learnt from other projects. We can also get various solutions for the issues we faced from the expertise from different testing source.
We always have a choice of selecting the best solution out of it based upon our project and we can make use of it.

“A Testers Journey” is going to be our blog !!!
